How Andrew Used Our Products
Only owned the car for roughly two months, was a bit run down when I got it, and was in desperate need of a good clean. (Currently in the middle of refurbishing the silver alloys, that's why the pics show the car with different wheels!)
Started by hosing down the car to remove any loose dirt, car was heavily soiled when I purchased it. Once it had been rinsed down, I used the two bucket method to begin cleaning. I used Autoglym bodywork shampoo to clean the dirt off the car. I've always used sponges to clean cars prior to this, however the Meguiar’s wash mitt worked a dream, made it a lot easier to clean into all the many curves in the bodywork. Once I’d finished shampooing the car, rinsed the car off, and then dried off using a leather chamois.
Once the car was fully dry, began to clay the car using the Meguiar’s clay kit. Combined with the detailing spray included in the kit, it gave a really glass like finish to the paint work. Couldn’t believe the difference it made to the bodyworks look and feel.
there was a lot of heavy scratch/swirl marks on the car prior to this, so used some Mer car polish which I had lying about, which is a lot thicker type of car polish, to try and remove these marks. Left to haze for 20 min then buffed out. I then applied another coat of polish, this time using Bilt-Hamber micro-fine paint conditioner, a much finer grade of polish, to bring out the shine. Again, left to haze for 20 min then buffed out.
The final step I did was to seal the finish using a high quality wax. The Collinite wax worked wonders, didn't affect the shine like other car waxes I've used before, these of which all seem to dull the shine.
Overall happy with the final outcome, some of the products seemed a bit expensive when I was looking to buy them; however the results they bring make it money well spent.
