How Martin Used Our Products

This Seat Leon Cupra is around 6 years old with 70k miles on the clock, sees regular use from a selection of three children and is used on a daily basis. With recently moving to a house quite local to Polished Bliss my obsession with car 'detailing' has grown and so has my collection thanks to the great product range on offer. The interior and exterior was in much need of a deep clean, polish and a layer of protection since it's now getting into the winter months. So I decided to spend the whole weekend getting the car looking its best, and 23 hours later I was finished and very happy.

I began using Auto Finesse Avalanche snow foam and left this for around 10 minutes before rinsing off, while this removed a great deal of grit and dirt I wanted to ensure the pre-wash stage was carried out fully so I then attacked the lower parts of the car with Auto finesse Citrus Power - lovely smelling stuff! Now I was ready to get the two buckets out and wash the car thoroughly using Poorboy's Super Slick & Suds Shampoo - also with a nice fragrance! After using a Meguiar’s Lambswool Wash Mitt on the body and a range of Wheel Woolies on the wheels I then cleansed the paintwork, first using Tardis then moving onto Auto Finesse Iron Out and finishing with Auto Finesse Clay. These three stages ensured the body was extremely smooth compared to how rough it felt before I started.

The interior sure was a mess and in need of great TLC. I first cleaned all plastics using a weak Meguiar’s APC / water mix followed by dressing all plastics. Next up was the fabric seats and floors, these were vacuumed followed by a treatment of shampoo which removed many stains and returned the natural dark colour to all fabrics leaving a lovely clean fragrance inside.

Wheels are, in my opinion, one of the most important parts of a car and when clean they set the car off. For this reason I decided to remove all the wheels so I could clean the arches and brake callipers and also made it much easier to clean the wheels. I polished all wheel's inside and out and then gave them a few layers of protection in the way of Poorboy's Wheel Sealant, which is brilliant stuff and so easy to work with.

I then prepared the car for a machine polish, taping up all plastics and badges and ensuring the lighting was all set up too. Using a mixture of Scholl and Meguiar's polishing and finishing pads with my dual-action Machine Polisher paired up with Poorboy's SSR's range I was able to carry out a good level of correction which I then completed with Poorboy's Black Hole Glaze for a glossy finish.

I was now at the stage where all the hard work was complete and I could enjoy applying the last stage product / protection layer. I chose Blackfire Midnight Sun Paste Wax after reading many product reviews and deciding it would be perfect for me, which it certainly was. This wax is a bargain as you get a massive 200g of amazing natural carnauba wax which is so easy to work with and gives an amazing deep glossy finish, certainly recommend it! After applying two coats of Midnight Sun I was happy the protection layer was complete and finished off the car by dressing the tyres using Blackfire Tyre Gel, cleaned all glass inside and out and went over every body panel with Blackfire Midnight Sun Instant Detailer.
