How Dave Used Our Products
My car is painted from factory in Volkswagen Candy White, I have owned it from new. The wheels are Porsche Design 90s custom finished in Elize Bronze.
My current detail process is as follows:
First step is snow foam, I use Auto Finesse Avalanche, with a capful of Gtechniq Citrus pre wash in winter to help cut through the road grime and salt. The car is then rinsed and Bilt-Hamber Korrosol is used to tackle any fall out.
This is followed by a rinse and two bucket wash using Chemical Guys Glossworkz and my Swissvax Waschpüdel. Grit guards are used in both buckets.
I then use clay and lube to remove any stubborn bonded contaminants, followed by a thorough rinse. Drying is taken care of using super plush woolly mammoth towels.
Where polishing is required is use a DAS6 Pro with 3m pads and Koch Chemie FeinSchleifPaste to remove any light swirls.
The car will then be panel wiped before Ultra Glaze is applied to enhance shine, this is done by DA with a finishing pad. A similar process is then used to apply Jet Seal to seal in the paint ready for a gloss enhancing wax.
Once the sealant has cured and been buffed out, a wax is applied by hand. I use a variety of waxes, Swissvax Glacier often applied by hand, Valet Pro Beading Marvellous, Swissvax Onyx or Chemical Guys Lava, all of which would be applied using a foam pad then buffed off with a great white buffing cloth or similar deep pile microfibre.
Finishing touches are cleaning the glass before applying a glass sealant, usually Gtechniq or Nanolex. Trim is dressed with Auto Finesse Dressle. The wheels are sealed and tyres shined to complete the process.
I carry out a simple snow foam and two bucket maintenance wash on a weekly basis to keep her looking her best.
