How Lucy Used Our Products

After a week of owning the latest over winter toy I knew the paint work was going to be a serious challenge. I couldn’t wait!

First step was a thorough decontamination to assess the state of play. Karcher K7 with the UF snow foam lance and UF snow foam was the first step, buckets filled while the snow foam was working its magic. I jet washed off the snow foam and gave a generous spray of Auto Finesse Iron to lower panels and wheels. While the Iron out did its thing I filled up a separate bucket for the wheels, rinsed off the Iron out , applied the Valet Pro Bilberry and left that to dwell while I rinsed off the now immensely purple iron contaminate from the panels. Once that was done it was time to get back to giving the wheels a good cleaning with the fantastic wheel woollies. I absolutely love these, don’t look like they’re going to get the job done but are phenomenal at getting in everywhere.

The Disco was then fully clayed, remaining tar removed, washed (2 Buckets) and then dried off with the mahoosive woolly mammoth, by far the best towel for something of this size!

The bodywork was in a horrific state and I have included a pic of post washing where it became obvious it needed a full correction. Started off with the Rupes big foot 15 green pad and quarz gloss all over. There were some areas that I felt could still be improved so a blue pad and Zepher was used only on these areas and then re-refined over with the green combo again. This really started to show a new side to the old girl! I then moved to the yellow pad and Keramik gloss compound which really started to bring out the pearl in the paint. A further pass over with the white Rupes pad and Polish Angel Escalate finishing compound and a Cuppa brake was defiantly needed!!

For the winter protection I decided on the Polish Angel Centurion Carnaubaflockencreme. I have this on my new Discovery and the stuff really has been a game changer for me. I applied by hand with the supplied applicator and left to cure for a good 20mins. From all the products I’ve bought over the years this has to be the most impressive, a pleasure to apply with a visible improvement to the paint and leaves behind a good 12 months protection.

In the meantime, Chemical guys natural shine was applied with a microfibre to all of the trim and seals. The glass was cleaned/polished with G4 and then treated with Gtechnic G1.

The wheels were given a quick coat of Poor Boys wheel wax and then the cured Polish Angel was effortlessly removed with a high-quality MF.

I’m really pleased with my days graft and I think to difference is immense, can’t wait to get it muddy now :)
