The problem with sponges is they find it hard to keep dirt away from the paint surface of the vehicle, and dirt can migrate in to the foam pores. The Basics Wash Pad addresses these issues by being covered in a soft, plush microfibre so it has some pile depth, and dirt is also prevented from transferring into the sponge inner. It also holds a lot of water and is easy to look after - it won't rot the way natural mitts do.

This wash pad is great! My car has a lot of annoying crevices like exposed hinges where leaf detritus builds up and always ends up transferring into sponges, mitts or buckets so I've always been a bit skeptical of buying really expensive mitts. But this is ideal because it holds plenty of water and can't really get anything stuck in it!
One thing I noticed is it holds a lot of water and it doesn't let it go by itself so be sure to squeeze the water out of it as you move across the car.
