My first try with this wax was disappointing, because I didn't let it dry before buffing off for long enough, my second try, difference of 5 minutes, and the wax has been on the car for 6 months now in British weather and only just started to show first indications that it needs reapplying. Fantastic stuff, every rain makes the car look almost as new even from resistant stuff like pollen. Very good protection
Budget price, refined performance. Excellent.

The short snappy version: This wax is as remarkable as all the reviews claim. Easy to apply, easy to buff off and the results are nothing short of spectacular. Invest in this. You won't find anything comparably priced on the high street and you won't regret it.
The 'detailers' version: From a commercial perspective, R222 concours wax is the perfect compromise between performance and value for money. Pot is larger than it appears in images and consistency of the wax is relatively hard and light yellow in colour. It only has it's own natural smell (fairly odourless really) and almost melts away to your touch when you come into contact with.
Application is very simple and importantly time-saving; dab an applicator pad onto the wax, apply to surface and wipe away. No curing time needed, buff away with a quality microfibre and job done. Yes, as advertised it doesn't leave residue marks on plastics etc, which is a HUGE bonus. Works straight away and you need a minimal amount on the pad - hence excellent value for money as one pot will last a very long time.
Performance: Clarity, intensity of paintwork and reflectiveness are just superb. You can't help but stand and admire each angle once you're finished.
Whether you apply multiple layers or just the one, beading and sheeting is up there amongst the top performers on paintwork, windows and alloy wheels. Forms an excellent barrier against dirt. Even in horrid winter conditions, lasts weeks/months.
I'll be comparing this product soon with the R222 100% carnauba paste wax, but to date, this is the best I've used on my own vehicles and customers' vehicles.
Best Wax Ive used for the money
by Manoj, 29 Jun 2015
So, I have been a Meguiar’s fan for a very long time. However I found that the wax protection just didn’t last at all. So I decided to try R222 products as recommended by a friend. I washed and clayed the car, then used R222 paint cleaner as the first step. I was blown away at the eases of this product and each panel looked free of swirl marks and left an almost mirror like finish on a black car. I then went over this with the R222 wax. I applied this on the whole car then buffed of to a brilliant show room shine. The protection is just amazing and a month in and its still beading water like an absolute dream. These two products alone are a must for any keen detailer and they are excellent value for money.

This wax has to be the best wax I have ever invested in. Over a period of years I have used many a name meguires nxt gen/ autoglym high definition and a few others. Some of the ones mentioned did a great job of application but not removal or vice versa. Also the duration of protection was another thing I was measuring, the longest that the car protection had lasted was 2 months maximum previously.
I read previous reviews of the R222 product and thought it was a bit on the expensive side for the size but I still took the plunge and invested into it. The product was so easy to apply and I used very little of it, personally think moistening the sponge had seriously helped. I did not do one panel at a time but did the whole car; once I had completed the whole car, the first panel had become hazy. Therefore, I thought I wonder how challenging it would be to take off as I had waxed the whole car in 25 mins, even thou the tub itself recommends a ten-minute curing time. I grabbed hold of my microfibre cloth and started to buff the car. I was completely shocked the wax buffed to a deep beautiful shine without any fight, I feel that the whole car was covered in five minutes without any muscle strain.
I am writing this review two weeks on and I can say that the car is still protected to a high level, just as it was on day one. At present, I am very impressed and will look to give feedback in two months time to see how the car protection is.

Used R222 for the first time last week after purchasing a couple of months ago and WoW, the neighbours thought I was "sad" spending all day on the car snow foaming, washing, pre waxing then applying R222, this wax is best by far that I have ever used, easy to apply easy to buff up and what a shine, it rained 2 days later and I just watched it bead off.

This stuff is really good, but the R222 100% Carnauba is unbeatable, so spend the little extra and get the best with that.
Immense depth of gloss

Effortless in use, and leaves insane gloss

I bought this wax in the summer to use on mine and my mates Jags. This wax is highly regarded in the detailing world and for the price it's a steal. I had to try it out. After prepping the cars and applying 2 layers of Zaino Z-5, this was the perfect solution to seal the polish. Apply it one panel at a time, on Jags these are large panels! Buffing was easy and the finish is superb. Nearly 6 months on and rain water still beads on the surface so its holding out much longer than AutoGlym HD wax has. Buy it - Results are superb!

I got a free sample with my last order and decided to try this wax, I have used all sorts of carnauba waxes; Meguiar's, Dodo Juice, etc. and this leaves them standing, both in finish (wet look) and ease of application. I reckon I will get another 3-4 applications from the sample jar and then I will definitely be buying some more.

This product is outstanding. Easy to apply, little needed to produce a show room finish. It costs £33 but money well spent as it will last you for quite some time. The shine will return after every wash. Using micro fibre cloths for polishing make easy work of the task. No residue, just a dazzling finish.

Let me start by saying that I've shown a couple of cars and have always been trying to improve my car finishes to get the edge on the competition. My current car is a bright silver MKI TT and to say that getting any 'depth' is an enormous task .. well, until I decided to buy the R222! Past tried products inc. Autoglym HD, Werkstat, Meguiars but the results from the R222 are just fabulous! EASY to apply and remove (as long as you remove it within about 5mins - any longer may require a misting of a decent detailer to help lift the wax. The 'depth' and wet look finish especially on a light colour is truly top notch. I'm very very happy ^____^
BEST WAX FOR REAL DETAILERS
by Jeff, 24 Oct 2009
I have just found the greatest wax ever! This wax will blow your minds, you'll not beleive what it can do. As a regular Meguiars user, I didnt believe in this product until I saw it in action.
* Easy to apply, wipe off & layer.
* It doesnt leave any wax marks.
* The best depth & shine you'll ever see for this price.. Great value for money!
From now on you'll want to wax your car every time you wash it. It's like an addiction!
As Good - and in some ways Better
by Richard Kenny, 22 Apr 2009
In years past I have had my 911s detailed each spring by a professional - and each has looked great, no complaints. My current Midnight Blue 4S is racking up the years, and so this year I though to 'make do' myself. It took two and a half hours to first wash with Swissvax Car Bath, then apply R222 Paintwork Cleaner, and then finally a coat of this brilliant stuff.
I am sure that there are areas that were given greater attention by the pro, but overall, I CANNOT TELL THE DIFFERENCE - and he took on average some 5 hours to do the job at 10 times the cost.
For interest, I found that on a cloudy day, it is much easier to work two panels ahead, rather than the one at a time recommended by the makers. Just allowing the wax that little extra drying time made it easier to buff off. Not that it is a difficult task anyway. Both this and the R22 Paintwork Cleaner are super easy to work and a great result.

OK, honesty here. I've owned a few nice cars and spent many, many hours, cleaning, polishing and admiring them. I thought I had the shine look down to a T on Sunday morning. Well my last 10 years of visiting Halfords were fruitless. This is THE best product that I have ever used, I honestly think after applying this wax my car looks better than the same car in the showroom, such a deep shine finish, you should imagine perfectly still water.
Brilliant! WARNING (for beginners) start to finish, book at least 4 hours on a Sunday, but it lasts for a about 8 weeks, and if you want admiring glances, there's either Hollywood or R222.
This stuff is unreal!!
by John Worpole, 17 Jun 2008
I bought a pot of R222 some months back having bought Meguiars products from you guys before, in fact the Lovely young lady on the phone promised me that the R222 was the "next level".
Fact is this stuff is staggeringly good!! I used it for the first time this weekend and ended up applying it to both my sons 350Z and daughters TT. The depth of shine and lustre beats anything I have used before and it is so easy to apply and wipe off that using it is a pleasure. In fact, passers by were stopping and commenting on it. Anybody thinking of baulking at the price DONT!!! As I said I treated three cars including my M5 and I reckon you would get a good 20+ applications from a tub. In my mind that is amazing value for such wonderful results!!
