How Brian Used Our Products
A 2007 Honda Accord 2.4ltr EX in a metallic black paint finish and loaded with almost every extra in the book. A harsh winter last year and a daily motorway commute left the paint looking dull, neglected and covered in fine swirl marks.
First Excess dirt was removed using a pressure washer, before thick bubbly suds of Meguiars Gold Class car shampoo was gently spread over the whole car using the microfiber wash mitt. Car plan Wonder wheels was then sprayed onto the wheels using a 'less is more' attitude as its an acid based cleaner and the dirt agitated using the small brush provided with it.
Time to clay - the paintwork is now rubbed down using the dodo juice supernatural clay and for lubrication I simply used a water spray. This removes any hidden dirt and tar spots to leave the paintwork feeling smooth as glass. The whole car is then rinsed again using the pressure washer again, before being dried using the water magnet.
Since the paintwork was riddled with swirls, I grabbed for the Meguiars Ultimate compound - instead of my usual 'paint cleaner' or 'swirl x' - which was applied by hand using an even coat applicator. This was then removed with a microfibre and the process repeated on every panel, leaving the paintwork looking full of colour and swirl free.
Next it was time to protect the new feel paint finish with some Hi-tech yellow paste wax (also by meguiars). A new Applicator was used to apply a thin layer of the wax to every panel from front to back and then removed in the same order using a fresh microfibre.
The final touches to finish off were to apply Autoglym metal polish to the chrome exhaust tips and buff to a mirror shine using a microfibre cloth and finally apply meguiars endurance tyre spray to the tyre wall by spraying generously and spreading with a Harris paintbrush for an even coat.
