How David Used Our Products
To be honest I am new to this level of car care, although as a family we have always looked after all our vehicles. My interest with more specialist products and techniques stemmed from a neighbour, three years ago.
So the car is washed only on average every month by my mum. She is aware of the two bucket method and so whenever she visits I'm always presented with a good canvas.
On this occasion the car was washed with Meguiar's wash, rinsed and dried with a drying cloth. This included the parts you don't normally see, such as the underside of the bonnet etc.
Then using Maguiars Quik Detailer I went around the entirety of the vehicle with a microfibre cloth to remove traces of surface contaminants left behind by the wash. I also used the same product in the engine bay, albeit with a lesser cloth.
At this point the vehicle looked clean but I didn't like the feel. A coat of Maguiars NXT Tech wax soon sorted that out. It was also used on the inside bear metal panels too. By now the car was gleaming and my attention turned to the inside.
My mum is in her senior years so the interior condition was already quite good. I started with a vigorous brush and pan sweep of the floors and seats. I also cleaned out the boot. Much like the exterior, the interior was now clean, but it didn't look as good as I wanted it to.
Finally with a clean microfibre cloth I used Meguiar's Interior Detailer spray on all of the cockpit, including the door panels, driving controls and other exposed plastic. A wipe down did exactly what I wanted it to and the car was finished. One happy mother. The car departed a few days later.
