How Bob Used Our Products

I love detailing the Jag, the Midnight Black paint and Black half leather come up amazing after I've finished. I started inside the car, hoovering, Meguiar’s Interior quick detailer to clean the dash and plastics, G101 to shampoo the carpets and headlining and Zaino Z-10 to treat the leather. Once the interior was complete, I snow foamed the car using the Nilfisk pressure washer and Autobrite Snow Foam, covering the bodywork, wheels, wheel arches and underneath of the car where possible. After rinsing off, I washed the car using the two bucket method with AutoSmart Autowash, which I managed to pick up for 99p for 25litre drum!

Once washed, the car was hosed down with cold water and dried using a Meguiar’s waffle drying towel followed by going over the bodywork using some Ultimate Quick Detailer to remove any streaks. Once car was dry, I then used some Autoglym Fast Glass to remove smears from the windows and then began on the wheels. I have some AutoSmart Smart Wheels which is a good non acidic wheel cleaner which I sprayed on to one wheel at a time, left to dwell for a minute and then washed off using a wash mitt and clean water. Once all wheels were washed and dried, they were polished using AutoGlym Super Resin Polish and sealed with Poorboy's Wheel Sealant.

At this stage the car is ready for clay. I have some Bilt-Hamber clay which can be used with just cold water and was really effective at achieving a smooth as glass feel to the paintwork. Warm the clay up with hot water first for good results. The car was clayed all over and again followed by a going over of Ultimate Quick Detailer.

It was now time for polishing, I polish my hand although I do have a DA Polisher. I started with Zaino Z-FX swirl remover to enhance the surface for polishing, this worked really well considering I've never used this before and removed light swirl marks and scratches on the bonnet and roof. Zaino Z-5 with added ZFX Flash cure accelerator was applied in two layers with some Z-8 gloss in between and finished off using R222 carnauba wax which I found lasts a lot longer than Autoglym HD wax which I previously used.

To finish, I sprayed some AutoSmart High style around the tyres and on the plastic trim where the reverse sensors are and also round the wheel arch linings too in order to give a deep shine. The wheel arches are usually quite prone to getting grubby, but have stayed cleaner for longer. The exhausts and Jaguar boot plinth where polished using AutoSol Metal Polish and buffed to a shine. The glass polished with G-Techniq for a long lasting sheen.

The car was now gleaming shiny and ready for the big day, the day I married my wife.
