How James Used Our Products
Having collected the Exige from a Lotus dealer a couple of weeks ago, it is fair to say that I was less than impressed with the condition of the paintwork. When all that was on offer as means of rectification was "let us have it again for a day and we will let our boys have another go" I decided the best course of action was to spend a couple of days detailing the car myself. So here we go...
Firstly I rinsed the car down, then gave a good coat of BH Korrosol, followed by KC Dirt & Insect remover and BH Surfex HD. Once the car was rinsed again I used UF Snow Foam as a final stage of pre-wash. Then using Swissvax Car Bath and Opaque shampoo I hand washed the car using the two bucket method, followed by a pure water rinse using an Aqua Gleam 0ppm filter.
Once the paintwork had been hand dried it was then time to use the BH Auto Clay to remove any further contaminants (of which there were loads). I then moved on to a coat of Meguiars Ultimate Polish, followed by Swissvax Paint Cleaner and Shield wax. The matt finished panels were treated with Swissvax Pre-Cleaner Opaque and then a coat of Opaque wax.
Finally the remaining exterior plastic parts were treated with KC Nano Magic Plastic Care.
The wheels were removed and washed by hand, followed by a treatment of Swissvax Paint Cleaner and Autobahn wax and the tyres dressed with G-tech T1 Tyre and Trim.
The exterior glass was first cleaned with G6 glass cleaner and then G4 Glass Nano polish prior to being treated with G1.
The interior was given a good hoover, followed by a wipe over with KC Refresh Cockpit Care and the interior glass cleaned with G6.
Overall I am pretty happy with the results, although there are still some swirls etc. in the paintwork that will need a professional machine polish. Maybe in a couple of months time....
