Detailing Carpet Brushes - by Wheel Woolies

Car interior brushes are a must-have for removing the build up of dust and dirt from your vents, dashboard, and other car interior surfaces. Using a good interior cleaner and microfibre cloth may be good for the larger areas of your car's interior, but they are never going to be able to reach into the panel joints or more textured surfaces.

Leading detailing brands have you covered with a plethora of interior brushes, from swabs for those extremely hard to reach areas to carpet cleaning brushes designed to lift the dirt or hair from the carpet fibres without damaging the fabric. Leather brushes can be used for hard plastics, vinyl, and leather of course, but if used on carpets, the shorter bristle may be too aggressive for the fabric pile.

Ultra soft brushes like those from Valet Pro are perfect for piano and other easily scratched materials.

Although you can use the same type of brushes used on the outside of the car, you should never use the exact same brush. The dirt found on the exterior of the car could contain mould, mildew, and bacteria. Transferring this to the car's interior could lead to unwanted smells and vegetation growth. We recommend storing your interior brushes separately from your other detailing equipment, ideally somewhere dry and warm.

Generally speaking, yes, carpet brushes can be used for fabric seats and also convertible rooftops. A key factor to think about is cross contamination. If your carpets are particular prone to dirt build up, it may be advisable to keep a dedicated brush and carpet cleaner for this.
