Aston Martin Vanquish Volante – 2-Stage Gloss Enhancement
In 2013, Aston Martin unveiled a convertible (Volante) variant of the 2nd generation Vanquish. The Volante has a full carbon fibre body, triple-skin lightweight fabric roof, 50% larger boot than its predecessor and the third generation of Brembo Carbon Ceramic Matrix (CCM) brake discs with six-piston front and four-piston rear brake calipers. The Vanquish Volante is 13% torsionally stiffer than the outgoing DBS Volante. The Volante was unveiled at the 2013 Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance and deliveries to Europe began in late 2013.

Summary:
This low mileage 2014 example finished in Morning Frost was booked in for a 2-Stage Gloss Enhancement. Once clean, the car was appraised, paint depth readings taken and recorded. The correction stage was carried out with RUPES LHR75E Mini and LHR 15 Mark III machines both using RUPES Quartz Gloss on RUPES Green Medium Polishing Pads. Refining was completed with RUPES Diamond Gloss on UltraFine Finishing Pads.
The paintwork was treated with Gtechniq Panel Wipe, a slow evaporation residue remover to eliminate any polish residues before the application of Gtechniq Crystal Serum Ultra Black (Pro+ Dual Layer). The slickest, most hydrophobic coating in the Gtechniq arsenal, EXO v4 is used as an additional layer over the top of Crystal Serum Ultra to enhance the water repelling function. This property helps to keep treated surfaces cleaner for longer.
The wheels were removed and treated with Gtechniq W6 to eliminate any remaining iron particles. Then, a lubricant was sprayed on and the wheels clayed to remove stubbornly bonded iron and tar deposits. When all the surfaces felt smooth to the touch, the wheels were washed using Pure Shampoo and dried using a BlowR Pro. After wiping with Panel Wipe, the wheels were protected with Gtechniq C5 Wheel Armour.
Gtechniq I1 Smart Fabric Anti-Bacterial was applied to the fabric roof, I1AB is specifically designed to repel water and oil-based liquids, helping to prevent staining. Unlike many fabric waterproofing products, I1AB coats each fibre individually, thus leaving the overall texture of the fabric unaffected. The anti-microbial function kills bacteria and inhibits mould growth.
