We tap ours out regularly over a bin to dislodge surface dust, which extends the service life between replacements. The waterproof nature means you can use it for wet extraction jobs, but we still prefer swapping to a foam filter for heavy wet work. Keep a spare on hand because once a HEPA filter is saturated or damaged, your vacuum performance drops noticeably.
