Is the quest for the Holy Grail finally over?
I genuinely think so. Like many who have spent countless hours polishing paintwork to a mirror finish, cleaning & removing every tell-tale sign of brake dust from the rims the thought of applying a boy racer wet look tyre dressing is nothing short of abhorrent. I’ve tried to count the number of tyre dressings I’ve hoped would finally provide the answer to my quest but ran out of fingers & toes years ago. The Red Fireball (so far, applied via sturdy sponge applicator on Fri with one coat on 4 year old scrubbed clean rubber & driven 150 miles in rain & puddles aplenty over the weekend) is still very much a rich even dark tone nearer Matt than Satin with not even a hint of boy racer. So, the look is exactly what the quest was always about but final judgement in a fortnight or so if it’s still doing its thing.
